Ikiikitei in Kisarazu: make lunch a small seafood barbecue

Choose your ingredients, grill them at your seat, and wait for them to be done. A meal that's more than just a meal to enjoy near the port.

Eating while traveling doesn't always mean "ordering and waiting for the food to arrive."

At Kisarazu's Kaisen Chaya Ikiikitei, you can choose your favorite seafood and grill it yourself. The store is operated by Kosei Suisan. This is a directly managed store of a company that sells seafood, and is a place where you can make lunch itself an experience. [1]

From looking at the menu to choosing ingredients

Here, the meal starts with choosing the ingredients.

What do you want to bake and how much would be good for the two of you? Let's make the time spent looking at the displayed prices, consulting and making choices one of the pleasures of spending time at the store. The official store guide also lists grilled foods such as tiger prawns and clams. [2]

Rather than choosing a large amount from the beginning, start with the amount you can eat. Afterwards, you can think about whether to bake another dish or order another dish, which will help you pace your meal.

Please do not take this restaurant's self-service restaurant to mean all-you-can-eat for a fixed price. Check the ordering and accounting process, look at the prices of the ingredients you have selected, and think about your budget.

“How do you bake it?” is also the gateway to the experience.

If it's your first time grilling shellfish or shrimp, it's natural that you don't know how to grill them. Rather than pretending to be familiar with the process, try pointing to the ingredients and asking, "How would you like this to be cooked?"

Cooking your own meals also allows you to enjoy conversation while the food is being prepared. What should I bake next and what would I like to eat? What's interesting about this is that everyone around the table can gradually become involved in preparing the meal.

However, since you will be dealing with fire and hot shells, please follow the store's instructions for grilling and how to use the equipment. If you're traveling with small children, discuss how to use a seat where an adult can watch over the grill.

Not everyone has to choose grilled seafood.

I want to eat seafood, but I'd rather eat the prepared food than grill it myself. In such cases, seafood bowls and conger eel tenju are also options. The restaurant's menu includes dishes other than grilled seafood. [2]

Even within the same group, there should be people who want to enjoy the experience and people who want to sit and eat slowly. Rather than trying to get everyone to follow one style of eating, try communicating your preferences for the day.

A walk around the port and a series of

This time we will introduce a store located in Fujimi, Kisarazu City. It's about a 15-minute walk from the west exit of Kisarazu Station, near Nakanoshima Ohashi Bridge. The location is different from the Kaneda store of the same company, so be sure to check the address on the map. [1]

On a day trip across the Aqua-Line from Tokyo, walk from the station toward the port and stop here along the way. After the meal, take a short break by the water before returning. Even without adding major sightseeing stops, crossing the bay and grilling seafood can give you plenty to talk about.

In addition to remembering ``what I ate,'' lunch leaves me with the memory of ``I cooked it myself.'' Make dining a travel experience at the port of Kisarazu.
